Chrome Free Leather

Chromium compounds may be absorbed through the skin and the wearing of leather shoes that have been tanned with chromate's can produce irritating and unsightly dermatitis of the feet.

The chromium residue in the leather can also be ingested if babies are to suck their shoes. We believe that our children should be given the best
possible start and this is why we offer a product that is both natural and safe.

All of our shoes are made from leather that has been tanned using vegetable extracts. This process poses no threat to little feet. Tanning in this way also carries benefits for the environment, as we are not adding to the distribution of unnecessary heavy metals that are a bi product of mineral tanning.

It also means that Daisy Roots shoes are truly biodegradable. The chrome free leather that we use exceeds the British Standard required to pass
BS EN 71-3, (safety for toys and playthings). The dyes that are used in the production of our chrome free leather are also completely safe for
babies and non-toxic.
